Attacks now working

Posted in General, NoName Game at 6:38 am by mshiltonj

In my yet-to-be named game, attacking and combat are now working. One agent can attack another agent with a weapon and deal damage. Both agents get event notifications:

You attack Doodster with a Buzzsaw. (To hit: 50%) You miss. (Roll: 29)
You attack Doodster with a Buzzsaw. (To hit: 50%) You hit Doodster! (Roll: 85) Doosters suffers 10 points of damage.

and:

Foobarosa attacks you with a Buzzsaw. (To hit: 50%) Foobarosa misses. (Roll: 29)
Foobarosa attacks you with a Buzzsaw. (To hit: 50%) Foobarosa hits you! (Roll: 97) You suffer 10 points of damage.

The next step is skills and abilities. Agents will be able to do many things in the game, and they can get better and better at doing particular things, increasing your success odds per attempt. Altough combat works, the success probababilty (50%, above) was the damage calculation (10, above) were hard coded for the moment.

Sucess and damage calculation skill and ability based.

Unfortunately, due to other things being scheduled, I may not get to work on this for at least a couple weeks.
