People who should be dead
Father Convicted of Raping Daughter, 3
If my job was to pull the switch on these sub-human degenerates, I would whistle happily on the way to the office, and sleep soundly at night. I support slow, medieval, Spanish Inquisition type punishment for those who victimize young, helpless children in this way.
A creature that would do crap like this is not deserving of any human rights. It is offensive to very nature of humanity. Human beings do *not* do this; only mutant freaks that need to be put down like animals will do this.

Lethal injection is a lot like the way we put down animals, isn’t it? I agree with your sentiment but disagree with it as guidance for policy. I’m not anti-capital punishment because I think most convicted murderers/rapists/whatever are undeserving of terrible fates. I’m anti-capital punishment because of human fallibility and particularly the fallibility of human institutions. Yes, the chance of a single mistake is significant and an over-riding concern for me. In addition, I don’t think I could in fact whistle any sort of tune if it were my job to throw the switch, swing the ax, or whatever.
Having said all this, I should note that I’m also anti-parole. The only allowed changes to a convicted felon’s sentence should be upward. Of course, in the prisons in my ideal universe, convicts never even converse with one another, much less have any other contact with each other. My overhaul of the prison system would proceed on the theory that it’s possible to put every prisoner in solitary confinement. My prisons would be both harsher in some ways (e.g., no beds) and kinder/gentler in others (no rapes). Again, that’s not because I think some prisoners are too nice to deserve to be raped. It’s because unless we are willing to specify rape as punishment (as I believe they did in a Pakistani village recently, or was it an Afghan village?), then we shouldn’t tolerate it. Besides, are you willing to be the one to carry out the rape of that father? Not sure I want to know if the answer is yes. Definitely sure I don’t want to have a system that hires people who are willing to do that sort of thing.
Again, I agree with your sentiment but think it’s bad guidance for public policy.
