Falwell says he’ll sue for Christmas snubs

Posted in Religion at 4:30 pm by mshiltonj

Falwell says he’ll sue for Christmas snubs:

“Conservative U.S. evangelist Jerry Falwell has announced he will sue any group that alters or forbids traditional Christmas events. “

Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays!

Aside: So all those pagans can sue Mr. Falwell and the schools systems for banning Halloween celebrations?

Or is it that Christians Evangelists are now suing people if they either do not acknowledge Christian holidays and if they do acknowledge non-Christian holidays?

The “war on Christmas” is such an obvious ruse. Of course we can find examples of cities, towns or homeowner associations being unnecessarily restrictive, but that should not be the real issue. The real issue is whether any instance of any public ban of Christmas (or other religious) decorations has any effect on anyone’s freedom to worship. Banning Christmas decorations from the public square has exactly no impact on anyone’s freedom. In fact, in almost all cases, within eyesight or at least easy walking distance of any of those public squares, you’ll find a church that is perfectly free to erect a creche, and usually one or two that have done so. Who is denied the freedom to worship?
